Gdje je Crna Gora?
Crna Gora je zasigurno jedna od najzanimljivijih tačaka na svijetu. Iako pokriva svega oko 14.000 km2 i ima tek oko 670.000 stanovnika, njen doprinos svjetskoj kulturnoj baštini utoliko je i veći. Tokom vijekova svoje bogate istorije Crna Gora je opstala i ostala jedan od najsvjetlijih primjera borbe za slobodu i za sopstveno postojanje i mjesto kome se uvijek govorilo sa pijetetom. Hrišćanska, muslimanska, ilirska, vizantijska, turska i slovenska civilizacija ovdje su se stopile čineći Crnu Goru dovijeka raskrsnicom kulture i istorije.
Crna Gora mijenjala je svoje ime mnogo puta. Od latinske oblasti pod nazivom Prevalis, preko srednjevjekovne države Zete, do savremenog Crna Gora, kako se mijenjalo ime, tako se i prostor, zahvaljujući svim civilizacijama koje su na njemu kraće ili duže boravile, pretvarao u mozaik civilizacijskih tekovina. Ovaj kvalitet Crne Gore i danas je, u svijetu njen najcjenjeniji aspekt.
Neko će reći da su joj ime, Crna Gora, donijeli moreplovci za koje je sa pučine izgledala kao vrletna i mračna jer su se odmah iznad njenih toplih obala dizale planine i vrleti ispresijecani klancima. Drugi bi rekli da su joj neprijatelji dali to ime, zbog loše sreće koja bi svakoga zadesila ukoliko bi pokušao da je pokori, u nekim davnim vremenima. Istina je u tome da svoje ime nosi po onima koji su je učinili državom – dinastiji Crnojevića. Oni su uz dinastiju Petrovića ostali rodonačelnici jedne savremene, male ali ponosne, zemlje na Mediteranu.

Crna Gora je jedna od najstarijih evropskih država. Možda će vas njeno ime, Montenegro kako ono zvuči na većini svjetskih jezika, na trenutak zavarati da je riječ o zemlji južne Amerike. No, ukoliko se malo raspitate i potražite kakvu ličnu kartu naše zemlje otkrićete da Evropa sa svim svojim nacionalnim, kulturnim i istorijsko–geografskim diverzitetom krije i jednu malu, ali po mnogo čemu posebnu i privlačnu državu u sebi.
Crna Gora je južno-evropska i mediteranska zemlja. Spada u red najjužnijih evropskih država i izlazi na južni dio Jadranskog mora. Na oko 500 km od Rima, 1.500 od Pariza i Berlina, i oko 2.000 km zapadno od Moskve, Crna Gora leži na Balkanskom poluostrvu u samom srcu Evrope.
Ona se prostire izmedju 41° 51’ i 43° 30’ sjeverne georgrafske širine, te između 18° 26’ i 20° 21’ istočne geografske dužine. Najjužnija tačka se nalazi na ušću rijeke Bojane u Jadransko more, a najsjevernija duboko u kontinentalnom dijelu nedaleko od tromeđe Bosne, Srbije i Crne Gore. Iako je rastojanje između ove dvije tačke svega 190 km, između mediteranske klime juga i surovih planinskih vrhova sjevera kao da postoji jedan čitav svijet. Iz ovoga razloga Crnu Goru nazivaju zemljom 6 kontinenata. Geografski i klimatski diverzitet i njen geografski položaj čine je destinacijom koja će vam ponuditi jutarnje kupanje u vodama Mediterana i popodnevno skijanje poput onoga u Alpima.

All you need to know about Montenegro
Montenegro is for sure one of the most interesting spots in the world. Even though it covers solely around 14.000 km2 and it only has about 670.000 citizens, its contribution to the world cultural heritage is because of that even bigger. During the centuries of its rich history Montenegro has survived and remained one of the brightest examples of fight for freedom and for its own existence, and as a place of which people always spoke with respect. Christian, Muslim, Illyrian, Byzantine, Turkish, and Slav civilization here merged making Montenegro forever a crossroad of culture and history.
Montenegro has changed its name many times, from Latin area under the mane of Prevalis, over the medieval state Zeta, to the modern Crna Gora (MONTENEGRO). As the name changed, so did the space, thanks to the all civilization which for a shorter or longer period stayed in it, turn into a mosaic of civilization heritage. This quality of Montenegro even today, in the world is its most valuable aspect.
Some will say that its name, Crna Gora (MONTENEGRO), was brought by the seamen for whom from the open sea it seemed as cragged and dark, because immediately above her warm shores rose mountains and crags intersected with gorges. The other would say that its name was given by its enemies, because of the bad luck which would struck everyone if one would try to conquer it, in some long gone days. The truth lies that it carries its name by those who made it a state – dynasty Crnojevic. Along with the dynasty of Petrovic they have remained the founders of a modern, small but proud, country in the Mediterranean.

Montenegro is one of the oldest European states. Maybe its name, Montenegro – as it sounds in the majority of world languages, for a moment will trick you that it is a country of South America. But if you look around a little bit and look for some identity card of our country you will discover that Europe with all its national, cultural, and historically – geographical diversity hides also a small, but in many ways special and attractive state in it.
Montenegro is a south European and a Mediterranean country. It is one of the most southern European states and it comes out on the south part of the Adriatic Sea. On about 500km from Rome, 1.500 km from Paris, and Berlin, and about 2.000km west from Moscow, Montenegro lies on the Balkan peninsula in the very heart of Europe.
